The story

<div class='contentful-richtext'><p>You know that friend or group of friends where you can have a really honest conversation? Best buddies that don’t pull any punches, ask great questions, and want to know more?</p><p>That was us. And the subject that we were curious about: sex. We discovered that when we could get past embarrassment and discuss the specific, detailed ways of touching, it empowered us to explore.</p><p>And there were patterns to what felt good. It struck us that, “Well, everybody likes something different” was a cop-out. A way to skim over the fact that, yes, people are different. But there was still a lot to learn about the chronically under-explored topic of female pleasure.</p><p>As we dug deeper, we realized that there was a total lack of research on the subject. So we teamed up with Indiana University and The Kinsey Institute to conduct a large-scale representative study on women’s pleasure.</p><p>Based on interviews and surveys with more than 20,000 women, OMGYES brings together insights through ultra-honest videos, new vocabulary and visual techniques. We strive to make the information impactful, comfortable, and unforgettable. And bring the joy of discovery to this community of explorers.</p></div>

That’s the taboo we’re trying to get rid of. We think people are ready for an honest, clear-headed look at the details that make all the difference.</p><p>Subtle variations in pressure or angle or consistency actually feel really different. What one woman calls a ‘circular motion on the clit’ could actually hurt for another woman who also likes a ‘circular motion on the clit.’ You really do have to get up close and actually see what the variations are — and why they feel so different.</p><p>We also publish our research findings in academic journals, too. But research papers are pretty dry and this site is our way of making the findings practical, relatable and fun to explore for busy people. Our first batch of research was published in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, and we have more scientific publications in the works.</p></div>

<div class='contentful-richtext'><p>Whenever the text is presented as the voice of OMGYES, we use the term vulva when referring to external female genitalia. We made the decision, however, not to ask participants (women who appear in videos and whose responses appear in quoted text) to alter their everyday language. We wanted the interviews to be improvised by regular women talking frankly and openly, as they would to friends. We experimented with correcting participants, but those interviews came across as staged and we felt intrusive. So we allowed the participants to stick with the language that came naturally.</p></div>
